    Common Questions

Is progesterone always prescribed along with estrogen?
If you have your uterus, your clinician will prescribe progesterone along with estrogen. Without progesterone, estrogen alone can stimulate growth of the uterine lining, increasing the risk of endometrial (uterine) cancer.
I can take estrogen in many different forms. Can I take progesterone in any other form besides the oral tablet?
Progesterone is best absorbed by the body in oral form, rather than a cream or gel.
Are there other forms of progesterone available?
At Modern Age, we only prescribe micronized progesterone. This is biologically identical to the progesterone produced by your body.
