Common Questions
What is a chemical peel?
What should I expect after treatment?
Immediately after treatment: You will leave your appointment with the peel still on for the next 4-6 hours. You should keep this in mind when scheduling your treatment — choose a time when you’ll be able to take plenty of time for yourself.
4-6 hours after treatment: You’ll wash off the peel using a mild cleanser and water. Be sure to do this at least an hour before you go to bed.
2-5 days after treatment: Skin turnover begins. As the peel works to boost the production of new, rejuvenated skin, the dead skin will begin to gradually break down and peel away. Be sure to use moisturizer and SPF frequently throughout the recovery process.
6-7 days after treatment: The peeling will gradually ease. Once it stops, you’ll notice a fresh, glowing appearance that may continue to improve over the next few weeks.
