Botox personalized to you

Botox (or any brand of neuromodulators) works by blocking the signals that cause facial muscles to tense up when you make expressions. By relaxing the muscles, it helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent new ones from showing up.

Your appointment will start with a 15-minute consultation to understand your skin goals. If you’re unsure about getting Botox, you can use this time to ask questions and find out if it’s right for you. We want to make sure you feel confident in your aging wellness decisions and get the treatment that suits your needs.

5 stars

Gorgeous space; knowledgeable and comforting staff from the front desk to the clinicians; great array of products (I loved the sample hyaluronic acid especially - will be back for more!). Highly recommend, especially if it is your first time having something like Botox done - everyone is patient and helpful and the spaces are very relaxing.

Such a delightful experience. The space is absolutely gorgeous and serene. My specialist made me feel completely comfortable throughout my first Botox treatment. I felt great when I walked out and am excited to come back for a hormone panel and future skin treatments.

The space is vibrant, welcoming, and very thoughtfully laid out. Stephanie had a warm demeanor and she was very well versed in educating me about my first Botox treatment. I felt like I was in very good hands! Some of my favorite touches were the meditative breathing exercises on the TV screen in the treatment room and the bone density scan.

5 stars for my first visit! Enjoyed the website design and the option to book an appointment online. The service was excellent from start to finish. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The doctor was very thorough when explaining the botox process. She did a great job and the I love the results!! I will definitely be back in 3-4 months!

I had a great experience at Modern Age. The clinician helped me understand my options and answered my questions patiently. I’ve been to other places that offer similar services and they can be curt and rush you through everything - that doesn’t happen at MA. They even had a special vibrating tool to help distract me from the Botox shots going in! This place exudes luxury and science. I will definitely be going back!!

Common Questions

What is Botox?
Botox is a brand name of the protein made by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. When injected into the skin, Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, which allows the facial muscles to relax. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face for a smoother look.

What will happen during my Botox appointment?
Every appointment starts with a 15-minute consultation to understand your skin goals and make sure the treatment is personalized to you. Once you’re ready for Botox, your clinician will sterilize the area and use a pencil to determine the injection sites. Then, using a very thin needle, your clinician will inject tiny amounts of the neuromodulator to allow your facial muscles to relax. Two weeks after your appointment, we offer an optional, complimentary follow-up appointment for any questions or touch-ups.
What brands of neuromodulators do you offer?
We offer two brands of neuromodulators: Botox and Xeomin. Both brands are shown to be very similar in efficacy. The main difference is that Xeomin does not contain any additive proteins that could potentially cause allergic reactions. If you’re not sure which brand is right for you, your Modern Age clinician can help.

How long do results last?
Results can last anywhere from 2 to 6 months. On average, they last between 3 and 4 months. The duration of your results depends on factors such as where the neuromodulator (or “wrinkle relaxer”) was injected, the dosage, and your body's own individual processes. Typically, results in the areas of your face that are thinner or that move most frequently will be the first to wear off, such as the corners of your eyes and lips. Results in the forehead and between the eyebrows typically last the longest.
Is it true that once you start getting Botox, you can’t stop?
No. How often you treat your wrinkles is completely up to you and your personal skin goals. When the wrinkle relaxers wear off, your face muscles will go back to making the same movement they did before, but your wrinkles won’t be any deeper than they were before treatment. In fact, your wrinkles will form more slowly than they would have otherwise.
If you want to keep seeing the effects consistently, we recommend coming in for another treatment after 3 months. But many people choose to let their results wear off completely and then come in for another treatment when ready.
How long will it stay in my system?
Your body metabolizes the Botox over 3-4 months and flushes it out of your system as muscle movement gradually returns.

Will it take time to recover?
After treatment, you should avoid lying down for 4 hours, and avoid exercising, drinking alcohol, and putting on makeup for 24 hours. You also shouldn’t get a facial for at least a week. Other than that, most people return to their everyday activities immediately.

What are the possible side effects?
Side effects tend to be mild and temporary. The injections, rather than the neuromodulator itself, cause most mild side effects. For example, a patient may occasionally bruise. If this happens, the bruising lasts about 1 week. After receiving injections, people have experienced swelling, redness, soreness, bruising, mild headache (uncommon), weakness in a neighboring muscle leading to a temporarily droopy brow or eyelid (rare), or signs and symptoms of botulism including problems breathing, swallowing, or speaking (very rare).

I'm pregnant or nursing. Can I be treated with Botox & Wrinkle Relaxers?
We recommend avoiding neuromodulator treatments during pregnancy and while nursing.

Jaw | $750
Lip flip | $150
Frown lines (11s) | $300

Please let us know which areas you’re interested in treating when you schedule your appointment.
Is there a discount for getting treatment in multiple areas?
Yes, we offer 15% off when you get wrinkle relaxers in two areas or more.

Do you perform “lip flips”?
Yes, we do. Lips tend to lose volume naturally as we age, so a lip flip treatment can help restore fullness, define your upper lip, or improve a gummy smile. When getting a lip flip, your clinician will inject a neuromodulator into your upper lip, causing the muscles in the area to relax. This allows the lips to relax and curl outward, giving the appearance of a fuller, more defined shape. Unlike filler, the lip flip does not add volume.
