woman getting a Microneedling treatment

Why you'll love it

On its own, microneedling results in microscopic punctures to the skin that stimulates the skin's natural healing process. These results are enhanced when paired with PRP infusion (your blood’s Platelet Rich Plasma that is loaded with growth factors). Before your procedure and after microneedling is completed, your clinician will apply your PRP back into your skin to encourage collagen production, cellular turnover and boost your skin's natural healing process.

What it treats

  • Microneedling + PRP

Your clinician will perform a blood draw to prepare the PRP and then numb your skin with a topical anesthetic. Your clinician will apply the PRP prior to the treatment and use a pen-like tool to make microscopic pinpricks underneath the skin’s surface. After the microneedling, your clinician will apply a layer of PRP that we encourage you to leave on for the remainder of the day. This prompts your body’s natural healing process, boosting collagen production and elasticity to reveal brighter, firmer, and smoother skin.

Common Questions

What is the difference between microneedling and microneedling + PRP? How do I decide which is the better option for my concerns?
Typically microneedling with PRP provides better results than microneedling alone. By infusing your blood’s PRP back into your skin, the effects of microneedling are enhanced. Applying PRP after microneedling also stimulates a quick healing response post-treatment.
What is PRP and what is blood centrifuging?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, a substance in your blood that is rich with growth factors which trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration.
Your clinician will do a blood draw prior to the start of your appointment. This sample is then specially processed via blood centrifuging to isolate the plasma component of your blood. The clinician then uses a potent topical cream to numb your scalp at the areas intended for treatment.
What should I expect post treatment?
Immediately following your treatment, you can expect your skin to be flushed or bright red, as if you have a mild to moderate sunburn. Applying hyaluronic acid serum post treatment can encourage collagen production. You should not wear makeup for 24 hours and should avoid sweaty exercise, hot tubs, or swimming for 48 hours after treatment.
How long does it take to see results?
You can expect to start seeing results within a week, and you should notice full results within 4-6 weeks. This allows time for your body to produce collagen and elastin as part of the healing process.
How long do results last and how often should I get microneedling + PRP?
Immediately following your treatment, you can expect your skin to be flushed or bright red, as if you have a mild to moderate sunburn. Applying hyaluronic acid serum post treatment can encourage collagen production. You should not wear makeup for 24 hours and should avoid sweaty exercise, hot tubs, or swimming for 48 hours after treatment
What are the side effects of microneedling + PRP?
You can expect to see redness and swelling for up to 48 hours after your treatment, and some people experience flaking or peeling skin. You might also see small red spots or light bruising that lasts for several days during the healing process. To minimize side effects, be sure to take care of your skin using gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF.
Who is not a candidate for microneedling + PRP?
We do not recommend microneedling for pregnant women or anyone with active acne breakouts.

Such a delightful experience. The space is absolutely gorgeous and serene. My specialist made me feel completely comfortable throughout my first Botox treatment. I felt great when I walked out and am excited to come back for a hormone panel and future skin treatments.

I had a great experience at Modern Age. Clinicians at other places can be curt and rush you through everything — that doesn’t happen at MA. They even had a special vibrating tool to help distract me from the Botox shots going in! This place exudes luxury and science. I will definitely be going back!!

I had a great experience here. I have tried places like this in the past that felt pushy but Modern Age was not. The clinical staff here were extremely knowledgeable and kind. The space itself was beautiful and relaxing. I had micro needling done and am thrilled with the results already. Highly recommend!

I am in my 30s and have been dealing with aging for the past couple of years and have been going to a Med Spa in UES so I decided to check them out. She did a fabulous job on my cheek fillers and the different was night and day immediately after the treatment. Definitely returning here without a question.
