What to expect
Addyi (flibanserin) treats low sex drive in women who haven't gone through menopause yet, but doesn't improve sexual performance. Because there's a risk of low blood pressure and fainting, drinking alcohol should be limited while taking Addyi (flibanserin).

Addyi (flibanserin) can cause low blood pressure, take the medication at bedtime to lower your risk of accidentally hurting yourself due to these side effects.
Wait at least 2 hours after drinking 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks before taking Addyi (flibanserin). Skip your dose if you've had 3 or more alcoholic drinks at night. Don't drink any alcohol after taking the medication until the next day.
Avoid driving a car or doing any activities that need your focus for at least 6 hours after taking Addyi (flibanserin).
Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice at any time while taking Addyi (flibanserin). Grapefruit can raise your risk of side effects while taking this medication.
Certain medications, herbal supplements, and foods can raise your risk of side effects while taking Addyi (flibanserin) or make you feel even sleepier. Let your healthcare provider know what other medications, supplements, or foods you're taking and if you have any conditions that can cause low blood pressure.
